Coraline
Though I'm a fan of where 3D animation is headed, there's just something fascinating about puppets and stop-motion animation. It's the authenticity of live objects, the look and feel that just can't be captured any other way. The subtle imperfections truly gives it character and soul.

That's cool... They used popcorn for cherry blossoms.
damn. 250 puppeteers? you kinda need to see it for the sheer amount of work, detail and cleverness that was put into it. like them michel gondry flicks. though all the makers are intriguingly wacko, especially the knitter lady.
^ The fact that their wackos is what draws me to see the film.
you've got to be some kind of messed up in the head to be able to even think you can do some of this stuff. like who wakes up one morning and says,"hey, i feel like knitting clothing. for tiny puppets." it really is ridiculous taken out of context. plus that neil gaiman is all kinds of awesome wacko.
